Animals in Shamanism

Animals in Shamanism - Mongolia & Buryatia

Tengerism or tngriism is a sub-sphere of shamanism practised in Buryatia and Mongolia. Their core belief is that humans, plants, animals, rocks and water all have spirits. Not only do animals have spirits there are also certain spirits/powers that reside within us that are represented by animals or their characteristics.

Man-made shamanist worshipping spots are often found on high, sacred

ground. These posts/totems mark a holy spot and people tie silk sashes to
them for luck.
